The agency further stated that despite the student himself choosing Abu Dhabi centre, it changed the centre to Nagpur following a last-minute informal request.
A day before the NEET-UG 2026 re-exam, NTA corrected an admit card error that had assigned a Nagpur-based candidate an examination centre in Abu Dhabi despite his Maharashtra preferences.
The high court was hearing Telegram's plea challenging Centre's decision to temporarily ban the platform till June 22 in view of the NEET re-exam.
"Channels demanding ₹14,000 to ₹25,000 - some even ₹10 lakh - claiming they'll send you the re-exam paper. They won't. There is no leaked paper for the re-exam," NTA said.
NTA has started the NEET-UG 2026 fee refund process and asked candidates to submit bank account details through the official portal before May 27.
When asked if someone in the NTA could be involved in the paper leak, Singh said that the CBI will arrest whoever is involved in the leak.
Acting on intelligence inputs from the Rajasthan Police, the Nashik City Crime Branch arrested Shubham Khairnar in connection with the paper leak.
During the demonstration, NSUI workers demanded an urgent address to the need for fair and equitable opportunities in the education system, specifically highlighting the concerns of students affected by the controversies in the NEET exam.
The NTA had moved the top court stating the result was being delayed due to the high court order.
