Notably, the meeting between the two took place a day after Shah accused the INDIA bloc's nominee for the post — retired Supreme Court Judge B Sudershan Reddy — of having supported Naxalism (Maoism) through his judicial pronouncements.
Gowda expressed happiness for Radhakrishnan being selected as the NDA candidate for the post.
“It is a matter of pride for all of us that Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan has been nominated for the Vice Presidential elections,” he told reporters here.
According to party sources, Singh had spoken to Stalin over the phone a few days ago to enlist the support of the Dravidian major for making CPR a common candidate in the election for Vice-President slated for September 9.
