Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said that Sharad Pawar and his NCP would be welcome in the NDA, if he joins the BJP-led ruling alliance.
The Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) submitted a memorandum to the President regarding the rising burden of fuel prices, the national examination system, and the alleged growing insecurity among minorities, among other issues.
According to the formula, the BJP will contest 11 seats, the Shinde-led Sena will contest 4 seats, and the Sunetra Ajit Pawar-led NCP will contest 2 seats.
Sources said that the BJP stand, which was discussed at a meeting of the Sunetra Ajit Pawar-led NCP on Tuesday evening, has not gone down well with her partymen.
The election result in Maharashtra has dealt a significant blow to the BJP’s political strategy.
As Maharashtra’s 13 seats head to the polls in the fifth and final phase of the general election on May 20, the state finds itself at a political crossroads.
In the scorching heat of Maharashtra’s political arena, the western region of the state emerges as the battleground where alliances are forged, loyalties tested, and strategies deployed with surgical precision.
A bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice K V Viswanathan also cautioned the Sharad Pawar faction of the Nationalist Congress Party not to use the NCP ‘clock’ symbol anywhere and to use the ‘man blowing turha’ symbol allotted to it for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
The two factions had filed disqualification petitions against each other.
