Naseemuddin Siddiqui has sent his resignation to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Uttar Pradesh in-charge Avinash Pandey, and State President Ajay Rai, sources here on Saturday said.
Siddiqui urged people to trust Rahul Gandhi, stating, “See Mahatma Gandhi in Rahul Gandhi, who is leading the Congress. Trust him and work together to strengthen the party.”
The decision comes days after the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, comprising Justice PK Jaiswal and Justice DK Singh asked the chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council to take a decision on the Bahujan Samaj Party's (BSP) petition seeking Congress leader's disqualification within 15 days.
