This is the fourth hike in milk prices this year by Mother Dairy. With the hike, the price of full cream milk has increased from Rs 63 per litre to Rs 64 per litre. However, the company has not revised the prices of full-cream milk sold in 500 ml packs.
Amul cooperative also announced a hike of Rs 2 per litre in the prices of full cream milk and buffalo milk across all the states.
The surge in farm prices is only being partially passed on to the consumers, thereby securing the interests of both the stakeholders -- consumers and farmers.
"Mother Dairy is compelled to raise its milk prices by Rs. 2/litre with effect from August 17, 2022. The new prices will be applicable for all milk variants," it said in a statement on Tuesday.
The last time Mother Dairy had increased its prices was in 2019.
