Connectivity between Siliguri, Mirik, and Darjeeling continues to remain severely disrupted following the collapse of the iron bridge at Dudhia earlier this month, as authorities race to construct a temporary alternative link over the Balason river.
Inspired by India’s first Digital Nomad Village, recently launched in Sikkim’s Yakten, stakeholders in north Bengal’s tourism industry have begun exploring similar possibilities across the region.
The programme was organised by the Mirik Subdivision Library Employee Association and chaired by eminent litterateur Rajbahadur Rai.
"The recent sighting was some days ago. While they do not come near human settlements like the other normal leopards do, we see them either sleeping or resting on rocks or walking among the tea bushes or the hill slopes far away," Mr Rai said.
