According to Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Sirsa, who conducted on-ground inspections, the government has scientifically identified 62 additional pollution hotspots, in addition to the previously known 13.
Sirsa said that during winter, when the city faces severe pollution, smoke generated from biomass burning such as firewood, raw coal, and other materials—worsens the smog situation.
During the meeting, Sirsa directed on-ground teams to ensure pothole repairs, paving of roads, water sprinkling to mitigate dust, proper disposal of industrial waste, prevention of open burning of waste and biomass.
Officials attributed the improvement to year-round pollution control measures, including dust suppression, vehicular checks, and strict enforcement against open waste burning.
Mishra said that Guru Tegh Bahadur’s sacrifice was not for a single religion or community, but for all of humanity.
