Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said Friday that the government held a series of high-level bilateral meetings with representatives from Chile, Oman, the Netherlands, the Maldives, Germany and Egypt to deepen trade, investment and strategic cooperation.
“The government is examining these requests while considering India’s own refining capacity, domestic requirements, and fuel availability,” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.

The ban will also apply to visitors entering the Maldives, a South Asian country popular for luxury tourism and home to 1,191 small coral islets.
The Maldives envoy was approached by reporters when he was alighting from his car at the Parliament House where he was invited to attend President Droupadi Murmu's address to the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament on the opening day of the Budget Session.

"The next meeting is to be held in India to take the discussions forward. So that is where the situation as far as the Maldives is concerned," MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at a media briefing.
