The 16.6km stretch has already missed deadlines in the past and the Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRC) authorities were putting their efforts to complete the project by 2012.
The incident brought officials of Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRC) officials, Kolkata Police, Disaster Management Group and engineers of Kolkata Municipal Corporation rushing to provide immediate relief to the evacuees.
The Metro authorities earlier were apprehensive as the inspection by the CRS is expected any day after 15 July.
According to sources in Kolkata Metro Railway, if the clearance by the CRS is obstructed for the two stations, the authorities will go with the commissioning of four stations of Sector V, Karunamoyee, Central Park and City Centre.
