Electricity and water bills of the local residents affected in Joshimath Land Subsidence have been waived on Sunday by the Uttarakhand Government at the orders issued on the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The Doda and Kishtwar districts of Jammu are being developed as the hydroelectric generation hub of the country with several power projects coming up in the area.

Earlier on Sunday, a team from the Prime Minister's Office visited disaster-hit areas of Joshimath in Uttarakhand's Chamoli and inspected the situation, an official said.
The Secretary inspected areas including Auli Ropeway, Manohar Bagh, Shankaracharya Math, JP Colony along with geologists and senior officials.
The meeting was attended by Road and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, Power Minister R K Singh, Environment, and Forest and Climate Change Minister Bhupender Yadav and Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
Shah chaired the meeting with Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari, RK Singh, Bhupendra Yadav and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat participating, on issues related to roads, power supply, water scarcity and environment in the Joshimath in the wake of land subsidence.
Dhami said that the affected people will be given compensation at the market rate in the landslide and landslide-affected areas of the Joshimath municipal area.
