Among the sites under surveillance was the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, where US aircraft were reportedly targeted during the hostilities.
Iran’s Defence Ministry said the country is fully equipped to sustain prolonged operations. Spokesperson Reza Talaeinik stated that Iran has sufficient missiles, drones, weapons, and ammunition to continue both offensive and defensive actions.
In a public advisory, Iran's IRGC urged vessels transiting the Strait to follow alternative routes to reduce the risk of collision, even as it indicated that certain passages may remain open under specific conditions.
At least five shipments of sodium perchlorate, a key chemical used in solid missile fuel, have reportedly reached Iran from China. The vessels are linked to the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Line Group (IRISL), which is under US sanctions.
The military escalation comes amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States, following a fresh ultimatum issued by US President Donald Trump.
IRGC spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaghari said the country’s military is prepared to act firmly against any external aggression. He asserted that Iran "will cut off the legs" of any aggressor trying to invade the country.
The United States blamed Iran-backed militias for the attack, while Iran alleged it was a joint attempt by the US and Israel to carry out an assassination.
According to reports, the aircraft was intercepted after entering sensitive airspace along the southern coast. Air defence systems then launched a surface-to-air missile targeting the jet near the strategically located island.
The IRGC said a range of missile systems, including Fattah, Qadr, and Emad, along with attack drones were used in the strikes.
The IRGC said its Aerospace Force also focused on strategic areas in Israel, including the port city of Haifa and the commercial hub of Tel Aviv.
