IndiGo CEO apologises for the flight disruptions across the country, attributing the chaos to crew shortages and mandatory safety requirements.
The widespread disruptions, which have left lakhs of passengers stranded for hours at major airports, were termed a "systemic failure" resulting from the government prioritizing corporate interests over passenger welfare.
The airline has called off all 235 flights at Delhi airport today, while operations at Chennai are expected to be affected until 6 pm. Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad have also experienced significant disruptions.
The airline issued a statement confirming the shutdown and extended an apology to thousands of passengers affected by what it described as “unforeseen events”.
