The warships will participate in bilateral exercises with Vietnam Peoples’ Navy, Philippine Navy, Republic of Singapore Navy, Indonesian Navy and Australian Navy and also participate in multilateral exercise "MALABAR 21", said Indian Navy.
Rajnath Singh was accompanied by Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh and Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command Vice Admiral AK Chawla.
Speaking at an annual press conference ahead of the Navy Day celebrations on December 4, Admiral Karambir said that the Navy's long-term plan is to have three aircraft carriers in the fleet.
