The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Thursday informed that ten Indian ships have safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz in the last few weeks while 14 Indian vessels are still present in the Persian Gulf.
Authorities confirmed safe movement of Indian energy shipments and ongoing naval operations, countering misinformation that suggested a major disruption in maritime routes near the Gulf region.
Despite heightened monitoring and logistical challenges, Indian vessels and seafarers operating in the region continue to navigate safely, according to government officials.
Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has announced an initiative to convert 1,000 shipping vessels to solar-battery-powered systems over the next five years.
The DSRV crew also carried out remotely operated vehicle operations at a depth of over 750 metres and side scan sonar operations at over 650 metres, which are all "firsts" for the Indian Navy, it said.
