The Manipur police said that the situation is tense but under control in some places with some sporadic incidents but normal in most districts of the state.
Security personnel while conducting a patrol in the violence-affected area of Manipur recovered a "Remote Initiation Mechanism" for improvised explosive devices (IED)
According to the police, incriminating materials, arms & ammunition including 1 pistol, 1 pistol magazine, 4 pistol rounds, 1 silencer, 1 IED, 1 remote control, 2 batteries, and 1 empty magazine of an AK 47 rifle were recovered on their disclosure.
A case has been registered. Further investigation is on.

The incident has triggered panic in the district town where two children had died in an IED explosion in a house on 2 January. A night before that five others were killed in the locality in a targeted attack by terrorists.
A defence spokesman said that based on intelligence received from J&K Police and further corroborated by Indian Army, regarding presence of an IED in General Area Astingoo on Bandipora-Sopore road, a joint operation was launched by Indian Army and JKP on the intervening night of 14 and 15 October.
The house from where the device was recovered belongs to a man named Kasim and he had given it to some people who are now missing. A manhunt has been launched for them.
The IED was detected by the police and 14 RR of the Army in an orchard in Bagh area.
