Abhijeet Dipke has launched an indefinite fast as Sonam Wangchuk remains under observation at Safdarjung Hospital following his removal from Jantar Mantar.
The Delhi High Court had earlier ordered daily medical monitoring of Wangchuk's health during his fast, while several Opposition leaders visited the protest site a day before he was shifted to hospital.
Education reform activist Sonam Wangchuk entered the 20th day of his indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar on Friday.
The protest began at 6 am and was observed simultaneously in all district headquarters, with the main demonstration held at Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati.
“This fight is for our farmers,” he said, adding: “If UP police do not arrest the union minister's son, I will go on hunger strike. It is my "vachan" (promise)."
