Fresh political tension erupted in Murshidabad’s Beldanga on Monday after newly-elected Aam Janata Unnayan Party MLA Humayun Kabir locked the office of the Beldanga-II Panchayat Samiti alleging large-scale corruption in government welfare schemes during the previous Trinamul Congress regime.
Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP) chief Humayun Kabir on Friday ruled out any possibility of an alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in West Bengal, asserting that his party would function as part of the Opposition despite the BJP’s sweeping electoral victory in the state.
