The Supreme Court agreed on Monday to hear Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray’s plea challenging an Election Commission decision about the party's election symbol in August.
The petitioner advocate urged the top court to give direction to remove social media posts and videos that are derogatory and contemptuous towards the judiciary.
Vivekanand Reddy was uncle of incumbent Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and brother of late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
The court agreed to hear the plea on May 12 upon a mention by senior advocate Harish Salve seeking an urgent listing.
