Hanskhali rape-murder: BJP’s fact-finding team to visit Bengal

In a statement, BJP national General Secretary Arun Singh said, "National President Jagat Prakash Nadda has nominated a five-member fact-finding committee to visit the place of rape and murder of minor girl at Hanskhali, Nadia, West Bengal. The committee will submit its report at the earliest."

12-hour bandh by BJP peaceful, rape accused remanded in 14-day cop custody

“It is shocking how the girl wasn’t even taken to the doctor, or to the hospital for an autopsy despite the Supreme Court rules by which such a procedure is mandatory. The incident happened on 5 April and no one got to know about it, not even the neighbours, police or doctors. Is it because the matter was being suppressed since the main accused is the son of a TMC leader?”

Many unanswered questions in Hanskhali case: Mamata

“Will you call this rape or was the girl pregnant or was it a love affair or was she ill or did something else happen to her? What has happened is not right. I condemn it. The incident happened on 5 April but why was the police complaint not lodged immediately? As there was doubt about the cause of her death then why was she cremated in haste on the same day without informing anyone? How will the police investigate now?”
