Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar on Wednesday dismissed the petitions for the disqualification of two BRS MLAs who had allegedly switched loyalties to the Congress in 2024.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao accused the Speaker of acting on the orders of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and tagged it as a murder of democracy.
The BRS had filed these petitions seeking the disqualification of a total of ten MLAs for voluntarily giving up the memberships of the BRS after winning elections on its ticket.
On Friday, notices were sent to five of the 10 MLAs who had joined the Congress after winning their seats on a BRS ticket.
