"The police should have filed a case like it was done in the case of Nirbhaya. Why the police have not recorded the statement of the victim yet, even if she does not agree, there is a provision under the law for recording a statement," Opposition leader Siddaramaiah questioned.
The Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill, 2020, seeks a total ban on the slaughter of cows and stringent punishment for offenders for those who indulge in smuggling, illegal transportation, atrocities on cows and slaughtering of the cattle.
