The statement of the Chief Minister comes in the wake of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s letter to him over the alleged horrific sexual violence unleashed by Revanna on hundreds of women.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had on Friday ruled out gas leak as the cause of the blaze. He said CCTV footage has revealed that a man was seen keeping a bag in the cafe.
"The police should have filed a case like it was done in the case of Nirbhaya. Why the police have not recorded the statement of the victim yet, even if she does not agree, there is a provision under the law for recording a statement," Opposition leader Siddaramaiah questioned.
The Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill, 2020, seeks a total ban on the slaughter of cows and stringent punishment for offenders for those who indulge in smuggling, illegal transportation, atrocities on cows and slaughtering of the cattle.
