A stretch of Amriti village under English Bazar police station in Malda turned into a virtual battlefield on Wednesday afternoon after clashes broke out between police and villagers protesting the murder of a local youth.
Mr Biswas, in a press release claimed that there was no load-shedding in the state after Mamata Banerjee came to power in the state.
According to sources, erosion has also started in some areas of Kaliachak, but no extensive damage has been done there so far.
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee had also urged such a police station in each district for the convenience of the people.
