The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army wrote on X, "An Infiltration attempt has been successfully prevented with the elimination of two terrorists today on LoC in Keran Sector, Kupwara. Anti- Infiltration Operations are continuing".
The encounter took place in the forests of Kothiyatola area in the Balaghat district on Monday, according to the officials.
The gunfight broke out in the Modergam village of Kulgam in the morning when the security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists. Atleast two to three terrorists have been trapped in the area.
