A six-year-old child died of electrocution in the Indira Nagar area of Wagle Estate in Maharashtra's Thane, triggering widespread anger among residents who alleged negligence by the electricity department.
In the incident, seven people, including three children and three women, were electrocuted to death during the 'Ulta Rath' while 16 people sustained injuries.
Medical Officer at Kumarghat Subdivision Hospital, Dr Sanjit Chakma informed that six people died on the spot and 15 people are hospitalised with severe burn injuries due to electrocution.
