The poll panel has brought to the notice of political parties the existing legal provisions that govern the regulatory framework against the use of misinformation and impersonation using deep fakes.
Congress also alleged that the BJP has violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by posting animated videos of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The Election Commission on Friday said 1,717 candidates are in the fray for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha polls scheduled to be held on May 13.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar along with Election Commissioners-- Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu held a meeting with 265 Observers.
CEC Rajiv Kumar along with EC Anup Chandra Pandey also launched a Chatbot - Voter Saathi and an Online Election Quiz for voter awareness developed by Chief Electoral Office, Himachal Pradesh.
The Election Commission of India conducts the presidential elections in exercise of powers vested in it under Article 324 of the Constitution of India.
"These officers will oversee the entire poll processes as eyes and ears of the Commission on the ground to ensure free, fair and voter friendly elections," the officer said.
The Commission would review the situation before Feb 11 and issue a fresh directive accordingly.
In its order, the Commission said there would be no road show, Pad-yatra, cycle/bike/vehicle rally and procession till January 22.
