In a message posted on ‘X’, he stated, “I am extremely pleased to share that now, all education loans provided under the Student Credit Card Scheme will be interest-free for all applicants.”
This scheme, part of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, offers collateral - and guarantor-free loans up to Rs 10 lakh for students admitted to top-ranking Higher Education Institutions (QHEIs) across India.
The scheme will ensure that underprivileged students have access to quality education to realize their potential and achieve their aspirations.
Education loans are restricted to only 1,056 institutions, education loans routed only via Vidya Laxmi portal, said the Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala.
