During the event, a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each will be provided to 40 shop owners from Chooralmala and Mundakkai who did not receive government aid.
Officials here on Saturday said an amount of ₹710.12 crore has been allocated under the disaster relief fund in the financial year 2025-26. With this amount, assistance has been provided to victims of various natural and man-made disasters.
According to MEA, the visit highlights India's Neighbourhood First Policy and comes amid ongoing relief efforts under Operation Sagar Bandhu, launched to assist Sri Lanka after the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi conveyed that the people of India stand in firm solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka in this hour of need.
It also approved a special assistance package of Rs 7 lakh for homes completely destroyed in fire incidents.
"Himachal Pradesh has suffered extensive damage due to natural disasters, and the state government stands firmly with the affected families," he said, adding that the government is extending all possible support to people with its limited resources.
