Delhi University

From a hired house in Daryaganj to the commanding heights of India’s economy

In 1926, an idea took shape with the founding of the Commercial College, operating modestly out of a hired house in Delhi's Daryaganj, with just 12 students on its rolls. In 1951, it was rechristened the Shri Ram College of Commerce, and three years later, it shifted to its present campus at Delhi University's North Campus.
