Stepping up the fight against pollution, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday unveiled an aggressive and wide-ranging strategy to combat air pollution in the national capital, signalling a shift from intent to enforcement.
The opening day of the Khelo Delhi–Delhi Khel Mahakumbh featured cultural performances, interactions with athletes and messages from leaders highlighting Delhi’s focus on building a strong sports culture.
The Chief Minister stated that the Delhi Government’s objective is not merely to construct infrastructure, but to ensure that these facilities provide students with world-class education supported by modern technology.
She said in a country like India, even women belonging to well-off families suffer from deficiencies in haemoglobin and vitamins.
On the occasion, the CM also highlighted schemes introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which are playing a significant role in transforming Delhi into a developed capital.
Announcing the move, Gupta said that this initiative will be a significant support, especially for the hardworking Vishwakarma mothers.
She has said that significant schemes will be announced on a daily basis for 15 days, and out of these, a total of 'major 75 schemes are going to play a crucial role in the city's development.
These vans were launched as part of a pilot project in the Shalimar Bagh assembly constituency. The CM stated that similar vans will soon be seen across other constituencies as well.
