According to officials, the SSP has ordered the suspension of Selection Grade Constable (SgCt) Mohammad Zia of Police Post Premnagar with immediate effect. He has been attached to District Police Lines (DPL) pending further proceedings.
As the matter came to light, a Sub-Inspector Mohit and a Constable Ajay were immediately suspended and a departmental inquiry was ordered against them.
All the accused were charged with allegedly demanding Rs 10 lakh from the complainant and his wife after threatening them that they would be jailed in a case of nonpayment of money.
