Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar sparked controversy by singing the RSS anthem in the Assembly amid a debate on the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede. Facing BJP’s attack, he apologised to Congress and the INDIA bloc, reaffirming his loyalty to the party while ruling out ties with BJP or RSS.
In its report submitted to the High Court, the state government highlighted serious lapses and mismanagement from the franchise in holding the victory celebration event.
The Tribunal also highlighted the lack of formal communication from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).
Earlier on Wednesday, Shivakumar had apologised for the stampede that turned celebrations into mourning.
A huge crowd of RCB fans had thronged the stadium to participate in the team's victory celebrations.
