This progress is reflected in the recent approval of 22 projects under the third phase of the Central Government’s Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), which includes four proposals from the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Items that will be covered under the lower GST rate of 5 per cent will include essential farm items, health-related items, handicrafts and insurance.
“At a time when States need more powers, their rights are being taken away in key areas such as education and healthcare,” he said, accusing the Centre of encroaching on State powers and making them increasingly dependent on Delhi.
