Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has accepted the demand of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) and Gangotri Priests Association for prevention of entry of non Hindus in Chardham shrines.
Deviating from its traditional celebrations, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) will, for the first time, light 12,000 diyas and offer Chappan Bhog to Goddess Lakshmi at the Badrinath shrine campus this Deepawali on Monday.
The doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham will officially reopen on May 2 while that of Shri Badrinath Dham will open on May 4, a spokesperson from the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) said.
