The survivor, a student from Odisha’s Jaleswar, was reportedly attacked by several men outside the private medical college campus on Friday night while out for dinner with a friend.
According to the West Bengal police, the student of a private medical college in Durgapur, West Burdwan district, had stepped out of the campus with a male friend for an evening snack around 8.30 pm on Friday night when a group of young men on motorcycles began stalking them and making lewd comments.
