Mumbai Police are probing allegations that Reliance Home Finance diverted bank funds after securing loans using misleading financial documents, according to a complaint filed by Axis Bank.
A Bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi said the court would be “very shy” to direct arrests unless specifically sought by probe agencies such as the CBI or Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday questioned industrialist Anil Ambani in connection with an alleged Rs 2,929 crore cheating case linked to Reliance Communications Ltd (RCom), after a complaint by the State Bank of India (SBI), officials said.
According to the FIR, Ambani and former officials of Reliance Communications allegedly defrauded PNB of ₹1,085 crore between 2013 and 2017.

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has summoned Anil Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Group (RAAGA companies), for questioning in connection with its ongoing probe into an alleged Rs 17,000-crore loan fraud case.
"The media reports appear to pertain to allegations concerning transactions of Reliance Communications Limited (RCom) or Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL) which are more than 10 years old," the statement mentioned.
