In an exclusive interview to the United News of India, Prof AK Abdul Momen, who served as Bangladesh’s foreign minister from 2019-2024, said that the Bangladesh-Pakistan-China axis building up could prove deeply destabilising, not just for Dhaka, but for the wider South and South East Asia
Momen also said on Saturday that it would have been possible to evacuate the Bangladeshis if the government could manage a chartered Chinese plane.
Earlier in December, Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen and the country’s Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan had called off their respective visits to India.
India has, however, declined to link the cancellation of the visit with the passing of the Citizenship Bill.
