There are over 100 airports that come under the authority of the Airports Authority of India, which works under the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
“We have not decided on which airports will be put on the block. But soon a list of such airports will be made and handed over to the civil aviation ministry,” said outgoing Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of AAI Guruprasad Mohapatra.
Currently, the airports being managed under the PPP model include Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Cochin.

While AAI would have a majority stake of 51 per cent, the Punjab government, through the Greater Ludhiana Development Authority (GLADA), will have a 49 per cent stake in the project.
