In its appeal, the state government sought the conviction of Dileep as well as three others acquitted by the trial court — Charlie Thomas, Sanilkumar aka Mesthiri Sanil, and Sarath G Nair.
The court found that the memory card was opened while it was under consideration by the trial court, the Ernakulam Principal Sessions Court, and the Angamaly Magistrate Court, she said in the letter.
The survivor approached the court with two applications. The first application aimed to obtain copies of statements of persons examined in the fact-finding inquiry.
The details of the inquiry report were produced by the survivor before the Kerala High Court along with a petition to quash the report and order a court-monitored probe by a special investigation team of the police.
