Both Justice Bindal and Justice Aravind Kumar are likely to be administered the oath of the office early next week – most likely on February 13. After both are sworn in, the Supreme Court will have its full sanctioned strength of 34 judges.

The Department of Justice of the Union Law Ministry issued separate notifications announcing their appointments.

Last week, five judges were appointed to the Supreme Court and they were administered oath on February 6.

While all five members of the Collegium, headed by Chief Justice D.Y.Chandrachud were unanimous in recommending the name of Justice Bindal, Justice K M Joseph had reservations on the name of Justice Kumar on the ground that his name can be considered at a later stage.
