Greentouch Entertainment Pvt Ltd launched the music of their forthcoming Bengali film Aschhey Bachhor Abar Hobey, featuring Arjun Chakrabarty and Rwittika Sen in the lead and directed by Susanta Das. The album, released on the Asha Audio label, was unveiled by Abir Chatterjee and Payel Sarkar and it has five songs composed by Indraadip Dasgupta.
Uro Chithi has been sung by Anwesha, Chine Phelechhi Raasta Ghat by Arijit Singh and Anwesha, Piriter Golmorich by Monali Thakur, Ki Kore Bojhai by Mohan Kanan and Shanmoli and another version of Ki Kore Bojhai has been done by Tania Sen. Prosen has penned the lyrics of all the songs.
“It&’s a youth-centric movie and I have composed the music accordingly. The songs are indeed very refreshing.” said music director Dasgupta.
HarperCollins Publishers India released Pluto Poems by the legendary Gulzar, at Starmark in South City Mall. This anthology has been translated by Nirupama Dutt. Well-known music composer Shantanu Moitra attended the release ceremony along with Gulzar, who dedicated this collection of his poetic creations to the planet Pluto. In these poems, he addresses some of his favourite themes, like relationships, God&’s presence and absence, nature and time, with his signature characteristic wit and brevity. Beautifully rendered into English by Nirupama Dutt, Pluto Poems is a must-have for Gulzar&’s admirers.
Triangulum, a book of poetry by Sushmita Gupta (English), Susmita Basu Majumder (Hindi) and Rajib Chakraborty (Bengali) was also released at Starmark, South City Mall, recently. Triangulum happens to be a small constellation in the northern sky and the name, in Latin, is derived from its three brightest stars that form a long and narrow triangle. Known to the ancient Babylonians and Greeks, Triangulum was one of the 48 constellations listed by second century astronomer Ptolemy.
The book begins with poetry in Hindi, then in Bengali and finally in English. Each author has composed 21 poems. Divided into four sections, the first three are individual entities wherein the authors enjoy his/her space in his/her respective language. The launch was done in the presence of celebrities like Srikanta Acharya, Nachiketa Chakraborty, Joy Sarkar, Lopamudra Mitra and Kalikaprasad.
After a long hiatus, the Bengali music connoisseurs are having pleasure of listening to a compilation of eight basic and original Bengali songs in an audio recorded compact disc entitled- Amar Katha, Amar Gaan. It deals rendition by stalwarts and popular artists like Srikanta Acharya, Lopamudra Mitra ,Rupankar, Anatara Chowdhury, Indranil Sen, Indrajit Sen. It is the brainchild of Probir Mukhopadhyay, member secretary of Damodar Valley Corporation who has penned all the songs and they have been composed by Anupam Mullick & Indrajit Sen. The audio CD officially released in their august presence and the same was followed by their songs at The Palladian Club (The Bengal Chamber Of Commerce & Industry) , on Octave Records. It features songs as Jadi Saab Hote ( Srikanta Acharya ), Amar Katha Amar Gaan, Tumi Hoye Amar Kachhe ( Rupankar), Chhotto Ekti Meye ( Lopamudra Mitra), Swapner Chhabi, Bolte Na Para Katha ( Antara Chowdhury),Ajo Chinina ( Indranil Sen), Jakhan Tomar ( Indrajit Sen).
