Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) on Wednesday confirmed that Zimbabwe will host India for a three-match T20I series in Harare in July. The matches will be played on July 23, 25 and 26 at the Harare Sports Club, all starting at 4:30 pm IST.

The upcoming contest will mark India’s return to Zimbabwe after their previous tour in July 2024, when the two sides played a five-match T20I series. The announcement also comes shortly after confirmation that Zimbabwe will travel to India for a three-match ODI series in January 2027, their first bilateral tour of India since 2002.

The two teams last faced each other during the Super Eight stage of the T20 World Cup, where India secured a commanding 72-run victory in Chennai after posting a formidable 256 for 4. Zimbabwe reached the Super Eight stage at the 2026 T20 World Cup after topping Group B that included Australia and Sri Lanka, and will look to build on that momentum from the mega event.

Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni described the upcoming series as a major opportunity for both players and supporters in the country.

“Matches against India always generate enormous interest and this is a fantastic opportunity for our players to test themselves against the world champions on home soil,” he said in a statement.

“Following our encouraging performances at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, this series gives us a strong platform to build momentum and continue growing as a competitive force in international cricket.”

Makoni also highlighted the significance of Zimbabwe’s scheduled ODI tour of India in 2027, calling it a historic moment for the team.

“It is a landmark moment for Zimbabwe to be touring India again for a bilateral ODI series after more than two decades,” Makoni said.

“India is one of the premier destinations in world cricket and this tour represents both an honour and a valuable opportunity for our players. We are looking forward to competitive and high-quality cricket and we believe this engagement will further strengthen the relationship between the two cricketing nations while providing invaluable exposure for our team,” he added.
