You can take Wojciech Szczesny out of Arsenal, but you cant take Arsenal out of him, it seems. For the Polish custodian took a swipe at Tottenham Hotspur fans as he celebrated his current side’s—Juventus— win over Spurs in the UEFA Champions League with a not-so-subtle Instagram post.

Great win and celebrations vs one of the best teams in North London 😎 FORZA JUVE!!! ⚪⚫ #northlondonisred

Posting celebratory pictures from a rival dressing-room is not new in today’s day and age but the caption of the post clearly takes a massive swipe at all Spurs fans, much to the delight of the Gunners faithful.

Spurs and Arsenal have an age-old rivalry and many players, past and present, regularly indulge in banter to stoke the fire.

The North London Derby is among the biggest fixtures in the English football calendar and Spurs seem to have emerged as the dominant of the sides in recent years.

Szczesny, of course, spent his formative years with the Gunners before making a first-team breakthrough in the 2010-11 season and was a regular until Petr Cech’s arrival in 2015.

While he did fall out of favour with Arsene Wenger, it’s apparent that the 27-year-old Pole harbours no ill will towards the Gunners and still has a soft spot for them.

After spending two seasons on loan at Serie A side AS Roma, the Pole joined the Bianconeri in the summer of 2017 as an understudy to Juve icon Gianluigi Buffon.

Arguably, Juve were slight underdogs coming into the second leg at Wembley Stadium, as the first leg in Turin had ended in a 2-2 draw.

And when Heung-Min Son blasted Spurs into a 1-0 lead on the night (3-2 on aggregate), it seemed that the Italians would suffer heartbreak in continental competition yet again but a quickf-fire double courtesy of Argentine forwards Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala turned the tie on its head.
