Balotelli, who has played some of the best clubs including Manchester City, Liverpool and Serie A giants AC and Inter Milan, is currently plying his trade for Ligue 1 side Nice.

The 27-year-old Italian of Ghanian descent has been accused of wasting his talent in the past and numerous instances on and off-the field have plagued his career.

Coined as ‘Super Mario’ by the press, he once set fire to his mansion while at Man City and other notable instance where he courted controversy was when he drove into an all-women’s prison to ‘have a look around’.

After impressing intermittently in Italy and England, Balotelli moved to France in 2016 and has successfully rejuvenated his flagging career. He bagged 17 goals in all completions for the club as they finished third in the league table last season.

This season, Balotelli has begun where he left of last time and has already scored eight times in 10 games.

Recently in September, the maverick striker announced the birth of his second child, a son named Lion. He has a previous child with his ex-girlfriend Rafaella Fico, a girl called Pia, who was born on 5 December 2012.

Despite starring for his country at the 2012 European Championships, Balotelli has struggled to become a regular for the Italian national side but his fine form at Nice could see him make the feature at next year’s World Cup.
