Thomas Muller scored a brace and helped himself to an assist as Bayern Munich crushed 10-man Besiktas in their UEFA Champions League round-of-16 clash on Tuesday night, but a video posted by the forward’s better half—Lisa Muller—has gone viral, leaving millions in splits.

Originally posted in German, the caption, after translation, read, “Filhou gave Thomas valuable tips for the game”.

Bayern re-posted the video via their Instagram handle, as did a plethora of netizens, with many claiming it to be a typical Muller video.

Whether or not the 28-year-old Muller benefited from the bizarre technique remains to be seen, but he was all business on the pitch as Die Bayern effectively sealed their path into the quarters of Europe’s elite club competition with a imperious first-leg display.

Young winger Kingsley Coman was another standout player, while fellow striker Robert Lewandowski also got in on the act with a late brace as the Turkish outfit fell apart after seeing central defender Vida get sent off for a last-man foul on the Polish striker early on.

In the other UEFA Champions League tie on the night, Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Barcelona at Stamford Bridge.

Bayern, since sacking Carlo Ancelotti early in the season, have got their campaign back on track and the Bavarians are widely regarded as one of the favourites to lift the UEFA Champions League. They hold a massive 19-point lead in the Bundesliga and are in the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal to raise hopes that Jupp Heynckes could lead them to another treble.
