As the final days of the year drew to a close, the fourth round of the Vijay Hazare Trophy also concluded, delivering another action-packed day of domestic cricket across multiple venues.

Matches were played across Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Jaipur, Alur, and Raipur, with the round being dominated by explosive batting performances and standout bowling spells. Several players reached the three-figure mark, with Sarfaraz Khan, Krunal Pandya, and Ruturaj Gaikwad headlining the day for Mumbai, Baroda, and Maharashtra, respectively.

Mumbai’s Sarfaraz Khan smashed a breathtaking 157 off just 75 balls to power his side to a commanding victory over Goa, handing them their first defeat of the competition. Mumbai posted a mammoth 444/8 before bowling Goa out to seal an 87-run win. Yashasvi Jaiswal, returning after missing the first three matches due to acute gastroenteritis, added 46 off 64 balls, narrowly missing out on a half-century.

In Jaipur, Maharashtra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad led from the front with a composed 124 off 113 balls against Uttarakhand. He laid a solid foundation for the innings, with Satyajeet Bachhav (56) and Ramakrishna Ghosh (47) providing valuable support. Maharashtra finished on 331/7 and went on to register a dominant 129-run victory.

At another venue, Baroda skipper Krunal Pandya continued his fine form, hammering a brisk 109 off 63 balls to guide his side to 417/4 against Hyderabad. Baroda later completed a 37-run win, maintaining their strong momentum in the tournament.

The round also featured impressive bowling displays. Mukesh Kumar and Akash Deep claimed four wickets each as Bengal bundled out Jammu & Kashmir for just 63 runs.

In the Plate Group, Meghalaya’s Akash Kumar picked up a hat-trick and a five-wicket haul against Arunachal Pradesh, while Dev Aditya Singh and Ajay Mandal grabbed four wickets apiece in Chhattisgarh’s massive 229-run win over Sikkim at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
