Here is why Twitterati want Rahul Dravid as India’s Prime Minister

Prithvi Shaw-Rahul Dravid

Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid, who is the coach of India’s Under-19 team, created a buzz after his team won the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 World Cup in New Zealand.

Following India’s win, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a cash reward of Rs 50 lakh for the coach, Rs 30 lakh for the team players and Rs 20 lakh for the coaching staff of the team.

But ‘The Wall’ of Indian cricket, Dravid, did not like the pay disparity and asked BCCI to bring parity in the incentive.

On Sunday, the BCCI announced that they have accepted Rahul Dravid’s request for the equal pay for the coaching staff.

Impressed with his gesture, twitterati started their own political campaign on micro-blogging site, saying ‘Rahul Dravid for PM’.

“Can we please just elect Dravid to the post of PM? I know it sounds silly, but this is the kind of person India needs. Someone who cares for others. Everything else can be learnt, but decency & kindness come from within,” wrote Bollywood singer Vishal Dadlani on Twitter.

“I will vote for any party that promises to make Rahul Dravid our PM. #DravidforPM,” wrote another Twitter user.
