Sri Lanka skipper Dimuth Karunaratne on Friday won the toss and decided to bat first against Bangladesh in the first match of the three-match ODI series in Colombo.

Sri Lanka were 45 for 1 after 7 overs.

This is the last match of the Sri Lanka ace pacer Lasith Malinga who is all set to hang his boots from ODIs post this game. However, Malinga will be available to play T20Is for Sri Lanka.

Malinga has played 225 ODI matches donning the island’s jersey and has taken 335 wickets — 3rd highest for Sri Lanka in ODIs. From the 73 T20I matches played, Malinga has 97 wickets against his name — 2nd highest in T20Is being behind Shahid Afridi by just one-wicket. Malinga is the only player in cricket history to bag two World Cup hattricks — against South Africa in 2007 and against Kenya in 2011.

Talking about the game, Sri Lanka lost Avishka Fernando (7) to Shafiul Islam when their score was only 10 runs.
