A host of India stars have made significant gains in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player rankings following their dominant innings-and-140-run victory over the West Indies in Ahmedabad, a result that gave their World Test Championship campaign a flying start.

At the heart of India’s triumph were their experienced match-winners. Pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj climbed three places to a career-best No.12 in the Test bowlers’ rankings after claiming seven wickets in the match, while Jasprit Bumrah continued to hold a firm grip on the No.1 spot with another impressive outing that included three scalps.

Among the batters, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was one of the biggest movers. His unbeaten century in the first Test propelled him six spots up to 25th, marking a new career-high ranking for the southpaw. KL Rahul, who also struck a century in Ahmedabad, rose four places to 35th in the Test batting charts.

Jadeja’s all-round brilliance has also strengthened his position at the top of the Test all-rounders’ rankings, further widening the gap over second-placed Ben Stokes. His teammate Washington Sundar inched closer to breaking into the top 10, moving up four places to 11th.

Meanwhile, in T20Is, several players made notable strides following the conclusion of the Australia–New Zealand series. Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan climbed to No.2 among T20I bowlers, behind India’s Varun Chakravarthy, who continues to lead the global list.

Among batters, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh surged 13 spots to joint 10th after a prolific series against New Zealand while Bangladesh’s Saif Hassan rose 17 places to 18th.
