Indonesia Open: PV Sindhu falls to Olympic champion An Seyoung in second round
Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu exited the Indonesia Open after a straight-games defeat to world No. 1 and reigning Olympic champion An Seyoung in the second round.
Sindhu struggled against the Chinese shuttler and bowed out tamely.

Star Indian shuttler PV Sindhu crashed out of the China Open World Superseries Premier here on Friday losing her quarter-finals match to China’s Gao Fangjie.
The second seed Hyderabadi shuttler was outplayed by Gao 11-21, 10-21 in a one-sided affair which lasted 37 minutes.

Right from the start, Sindhu never looked in the contention. She struggled against the Chinese shuttler and bowed out tamely.

Sindhu entered the quarter-finals stage by beating Han Yue of China 21-15, 21-13 on Thursday.

Sindhu continued her impressive form with another comfortable straight-games victory, defeating Japan’s Riko Gunji 21-9, 21-12 in just 37 minutes.
PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, the men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty and mixed doubles Tanisha Crasto-Dhruv Kapila advanced to the Singapore Open 2026 quarter-finals.
