La Liga giants Real Madrid desperately need a world-class midfield option in their squad. Both President Florentino Perez and manager Zinedine Zidane have accepted the fact that they do need a midfield player than can bank upon and while they have been linked with numerous midfielders, according to reports, they have shifted their focus back on Bruno Fernandes.

Manchester United star Paul Pogba is still their number one priority. However, the price asked by the Premier League side of €160 million has made Madrid rethink their decision of wanting to bid for Pogba. Christian Eriksen is number two on the list of midfielders they want in their team. However, Eriksen’s team Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly rejected all offers made by Real Madrid.

Ajax’s Donny Van de Beek was another name being linked to Real Madrid but no concrete advancement has happened in that deal as well. Amidst all these, Madrid have now focused their attention somewhere else and now they are looking at Bruno Fernandes as an option who was also being targeted by Manchester United.

According to reports carried A Bola, Real Madrid are once again in contention for the Sporting Lisbon midfielder. Notably, Bruno was close to joining Manchester United and was also linked with the Spurs but none of these deals could materialise before the English transfer window was shut down.

Real Madrid, who are aware that the deal with Pogba might not happen this season, are now striving hard to get in Fernandes before the close of European transfer window. Sporting Lisbon have asked for at least €70 million but La Liga side Real Madird are hopeful that they would lower their valuation of the player before the deal is finalised.
